I'm Alok Ray. This is my personal site — a place for writing, collecting, and thinking out loud. It has no algorithm, no engagement metrics, no comment section. Just pages and time.

I write about ideas that seem important to me: attention, meaning, craft, technology, how to live. The essays here are attempts to think clearly about things that are hard to think clearly about.

The logs are shorter — notes and fragments that don't warrant a full essay but feel worth preserving. The now page tells you what I'm currently doing. The bookshelf is what I've been reading.

The design aims to be calm and readable. Typography matters a great deal to me; I want reading here to feel unhurried.
